The French have been particulary dynamic in humanitarian aid to the Afghan people and the large number of French NGOs present in Afghanistan is testimony to this commitment.
As early as the 70s and 80s, these NGOs brought aid to the civilian populations, up to the remotest rural places, and Afghans today remember their courage.
After 2001, French NGOs took an active part in the interntational community’s efforts towards reconstruction and developement efforts.
